Kaska Language Exercises

The Kaska language exercises are designed to give language learners an opportunity to hear the language spoken and to practice saying the sentences and individual words. In one set of exercises, the sentences from the basic conversations appear in written form and can be heard by clicking on the sentence. This set of exercises is only available in one dialect presently, the dialect of Kaska language instructor Josephine Acklack, but versions in other dialects of Kaska are planned.

In the listening exercises, the focus is on learning to accurately hear the sounds of Kaska. In each exercise, example words are given that contain sounds that are distinguished in Kaska. Following the example words, words are presented with one sound left out. The listener must determine which sound is being used in each word.
